About Me

I created this blog as a place to log my journey of racing and healthy living. I haven’t always been a runner. I haven’t always been so healthy. In fact, I didn’t lead such a healthy lifestyle until a few years ago. I fell into running as a fluke. On the eve of the New Year in December 2004, I came up with the idea to run the Midnight Run in Central Park with friends. I wasn’t immediately hooked but eventually it happened within the year following the event. From that point on I’ve enjoyed training, racing and meeting a bunch of new people through my newfound hobby. Now I also enjoy eating a mostly plant-based diet and I’m feeling good about myself on all levels. I have more personal goals to reach in that arena which I’m working on now. I want to feel 100% comfortable in my own skin.

In addition to running/racing and healthy living, I enjoy the company of my family and friends, writing, good beer, bright lipstick, my cute biker jacket, spending time at the beach, being part of a book club, vegan treats, bike riding (not really but I’m learning to enjoy it,) vacation time, summer in the city, cooking…and now I feel like I’m writing a profile for match.com so I’ll stop.

I’m excited to share my continued day to day journey and hope to be able to inspire other people along the way. I know I wasn’t always healthy so I’m glad all of my life choices have lead me to the place where I am now.
