Tardiness Not Allowed

Today began with me running out the door like a bat out of hell rushing to an off-site meeting. Upon arrival I was practically late and sweaty, very attractive. You must understand that I do not like to be tardy to anything. It provides me with massive anxiety. I prefer to be annoyingly early if need be. But today I kept hitting snooze. I would proceed to fantasize that I was wandering from a long, exhausting day and I eventually came across an amazing bed and breakfast to take a nap in out of the blue. Suddenly, back in real time my alarm would go off a second time and I would hit snooze yet again and repeat my fantasy sleep session. This isn’t normal behavior, I know. Hence, my rushed morning. Originally, my training plan called for me to take a rest day or a cross-train day. I, for some reason, thought I would run this morning before work. I didn’t run today or cross train. Therefore, I took a rest day. Which technically is ok since it was what the schedule suggested in the first place. I have a tendency to change my training plan which I must learn NOT to do unless it’s a necessity.

On another topic, I recently heard someone speak of ginger beer when I was at a food tasting last week. My ears perked up and it sounded quite interesting to me. I fancy ginger, especially ginger ale and thought this would be similar. I stumbled upon ginger beer today while picking up lunch so I had to try it. It was a lovely as I thought it would be.

Also while out picking up lunch, I added a new book to my collection. I am part of a book club of girls who meet once a month. Someone hosts dinner and all of the guests bring a bottle of wine. We sit and chat for hours and actually do discuss the book. This month’s pick is Hotel on the Corner of Bitter and Sweet by Jamie Ford.

I usually like to make my purchases at the Strand as it is much more reasonable than other book stores. Sadly, they didn’t have a copy of my book today so I headed over to Barnes & Noble. I excitedly began the book on my commute home from work. I take the subway daily as I live uptown and work downtown. It’s a nice change of scenery.

I’m going to relax and read a little in bed this evening. I’m looking forward to getting into this book. I hear there is a romantic “forbidden love” element to it. True love always stands the test of time, doesn’t it? I would like to believe so.

Where Am I?
